Meaghan Maillet, LMT, BCTMB NVMT 9892 Licensed Massage Therapist
After receiving her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1992, Meaghan moved to Miami, Florida and worked as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist providing group and individual therapy to patients in both psychiatric and sub-acute physical rehabilitation hospitals. In 1999 she graduated from Educating Hands School of Massage and became a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. She created Connective Touch, a private massage practice, and has enjoyed working with a diverse clientele ranging from premature infants to expectant mothers as well as recreational and professional athletes. In addition to her private practice, Meaghan worked at the Spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne and at the renowned Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami.
In 2002, Meaghan traveled to Thailand where she studied and became certified in Nuad Bo Rarn Thai Massage Levels I & II. She has been certified by CORE Institute in Tallahassee, Florida as a Sports Massage Therapist and by the National Council on Strength & Fitness as a Personal Trainer. Meaghan has studied a variety of techniques including Prenatal and Postpartum Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Active Isolated Stretching, and Hydrotherapy & Thermalism. Her diverse training has enabled her to individualize each session to the needs of her clients.
After having successful practices in Florida and Virginia, Meaghan and her husband decided to seek adventure and new opportunities in Nevada. In August 2019 she opened Connective Touch in Reno, NV. Meaghan is a runner, triathlete and outdoor enthusiast. She loves being able to combine her passions for endurance sports and bodywork. When she’s not working or training, she likes to “give back” by volunteering massage at events such as Ironman USA. She has been a regular volunteer with Cause-Comfort for America’s Uniformed Services, providing massage services for veterans wounded in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. She volunteers on the Board of the Nevada Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association, and is also a part-time instructor in the massage therapy program at Truckee Meadows Community College.
